In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey, and the earthquakes that struck Lebanon and the region during the past hours, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces published a picture showing the appropriate measures to prevent earthquake risks.
Important guidelines and instructions were also published on how to act for the safety of citizens and to ensure protection from their dangers.
Protection instructions are the following:
1- You have to act calmly and rationally and not get confused when you start to feel the tremor.
2- If you are at home, school, or in the office, leave if the distance does not exceed (50 meters), otherwise, stay where you are and do not try to take anything from your personal belongings except for the mobile phone.
3- If you are in your work office or at school, take cover directly under any table and move away from the window or lean under or against a main wall (reinforced concrete).
4- If you are in the courtyard of any building or on the street, you must move away from the edges of the building.
5- If you are on the bus or in the car, stay in your place until the driver stops, and if you are driving, stop immediately.
6- If you are at home, lean against a main wall or under (pillars or arch, and this location must be determined in advance for you and your family among you now after reading the post).
7- If you are outside the home, school or office, stay away from tall buildings and head to large areas.
8- Try as much as possible to cut off the electricity and gas from the facility or the house so that it is not a cause of a fire.
9- Do not try to walk around immediately after the tremor, as it may be followed by other follow-up tremors and it is better to remain calm for a little longer after the first tremor.
10- After the earthquake is over, do not try to search the rubble immediately for personal items, as this may cause you injury as a result of subsequent collapses.
