On Friday evening, the feet of the Oranges still got off the floor during the closing event on Curaçao, the Tumba festival. How King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Amalia spend this weekend is private.
Máxima did say to beach guests on Friday, who watched her daughter put a recovered turtle back into the sea, that there would be a swim. A Dutch beach guest then asked in the surf if Amalia would also come for a swim. ,,Tomorrow”, Máxima replied.
On Monday morning, the Oranges will fly with the government aircraft from Curaçao to Princess Juliana International Airport on Sint Maarten, the island that was severely hit by Hurricane Irma in 2017. The first day of the royal visit to that island is largely devoted to the reconstruction after that natural disaster.
Immediately after landing, they visit the terminal of the airport that is being rebuilt, emergency services and the hospital on the island. They have lunch with members of parliament and the council of ministers and visit murals and a cultural festival in the capital Philipsburg.
