Snowy week: Yellow code throughout the country, temperatures drop to -9 degrees – Bulgaria

Code Orange for hazardous weather is in effect for one area for today, NIMH forecasters warn. In all other areas of Bulgaria for Monday has been announced yellow code for low temperatures and in some cases for high winds. They are expected maximum temperatures to remain below 0°. A strong northerly wind will blow with gusts of 20-24 m/s.

Code Orange has been announced for Sliven region, where there will also be low temperatures and wind. A strong northerly wind will blow with gusts up to about 26 m/s. It will be in the district ice day.

NIMH points out that low temperatures can lead to health problems for sensitive and sick people, the elderly, children and the homeless.

The conditions for blizzards and winds. The prevailing ones minimum temperatures will be between minus 9° and minus 4°, and the maximum – between minus 4° and 1°. In Sofia, minimum – about minus 8°, maximum – minus 3° – minus 4°.


Po The Black Sea it will be cloudy with snow showers. A strong northerly wind will blow and there will be blizzards. Maximum temperatures: between 0° and 2°. The temperature of the sea water is 7°-8°. The excitement of the sea will be 4-5 points.
