The good news: all of these systems are still supported and updated. But the real hammer is yet to come, because around a third of all users have an Android installed that is almost five years old or older:
- Version 9: 13.2 percent
- Version 8: 9.5 percent
- Version 7: 3.7 percent
- Version 6: 2.8 percent
- Version 5: 2.1 percent
- Version 4: 0.7 percent
The reason for this is clear: Not everyone can or wants to afford a new smartphone every two years, others deliberately use older and therefore cheaper models that are not compatible with newer Android versions.
Unfortunately, these fall out of support pretty quickly. Since these Android devices no longer get security updates, you should be careful.
