Respected tradition, the first collection of the year for blood donors from Ribérac is always accompanied by the tasting of the galette des rois. Doctor Bruno Girol, at the head of the complete team of the French Blood Establishment (EFS), appreciated the organization of this day, in the village hall of Villetoureix which, since the hailstorm, replaces the André-Malraux space in Ribérac.
“Everything is going well and we should still exceed the hundred donors. At the start of the year, Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the leading region for the number of donations. With 159 donors, we have even just beaten the record in Sarlat”, underlined André Vandenabelle, the president of the Association of blood donors of Ribérac for more than twenty years.
He also greeted Joëlle Saint-Martin, the mayor of Vanxains “who between two emergency meetings still took the time to accomplish this gesture of citizenship and solidarity. A fine example. The next collection is set for Wednesday April 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., still in Villetoureix.
