Although much of the story has already been told, Jaimie makes some shocking revelations in conversation with Robbert. We list them for you below.
1. Anyone who stood up for Jaimie got it
Jaimie “can’t count on four hands” the amount of violence in her relationship, she says. It happens not only behind closed doors, but also in front of their loved ones. Jaimie says that ‘everyone’ knows about their situation: her friends, Jorik’s friends and their management.
The violence takes place under the influence of alcohol and drugs, but also at times when the rapper is sober. It does not alter the fact that Jorik does not accept it, according to her, if friends stand up for Jaimie. Her best friend Koen Kardashian has been ‘literally and figuratively fucked’.
She says about an incident in Ibiza: “Koen stood up for me and got the full splash. He was missing a piece of his tooth and had a black eye.” Jaimie also says that she then ‘begs’ Koen not to say anything about the incident. “I have more of those moments.”
2. Jaimie was cheated by Jorik
Fierce quarrels, nightly excesses, staying away all weekends and cheating: Jaimie is not spared by Jorik during their relationship. “It was even so crazy that after such an argument, where it had escalated so much, I said sorry. Just to glue it again.” Purely to get confirmation that things are going well in the relationship and to be able to ‘breathe’ again.
The manipulative behavior does not stop there. “If my ex cheated or did something, he would get mad at me and I’d say sorry for asking. I was so confused.”
3. Jorik couldn’t control himself on Ibiza
The Netherlands first gets wind of the unhealthy relationship after the Ibiza incident. Jorik and Jaimie are on the island together with more Dutch guests to celebrate the opening of a hotel. There, according to Jaimie, Jorik can no longer control himself after a ‘funny quarrel’.
To paint a picture: Jaimie talks about hitting, broken clothes, pulling hair, broken glass and a broken telephone. She goes to the reception to ask for help, after which she files a complaint with the police. At the advice of friends, she eventually withdraws it, afraid of the consequences it would have for Jorik.
After that, the now famous video is recorded at the request of Jorik’s management, in which the couple pretends that there is no abuse. After this incident, they temporarily separate and Jaimie vows that she never wants to be touched that way by him again.
4. The night of the car accident was the final straw
Peace seems to have temporarily returned, until the incident in front of their home on the Amsterdam canal. After a dinner they meet, after an altercation over the phone, in a bar. When the two go home, Jorik ‘drives aggressively’ and things escalate again.
Fearing that Jorik will stay away from home for another weekend after the argument, Jaimie initially refuses to leave the car. A large part of the Netherlands has now seen what happens next.
A few days after the incident, Jaimie reviews the CCTV footage, unaware that part of the argument was caught on camera. After initially hesitating to release the images, she does so to finally escape the unsafe situation.
So with Life of Yvonne, who records the telephone conversation without Jaimie’s knowledge. “The moment I did it, I thought, am I really calling this woman to report this? I was about to make a major turn in my life.” Yvonne already knows about Jaimie’s difficult relationship through-via. “That way I felt somewhat safe with her because she knew the rationale behind it.”
It is immediately clear to Jorik that Jaimie is leaking the images. “Jorik first came home himself and was very angry,” said Jaimie, who was assisted by her good friend Wim at the time. “He (Jorik, ed.) Could not believe that I had done it. I had never bitten off in that way before.”
Shortly after Jorik’s departure, the police knock on Jaimie’s door, after which she makes a statement, shows the file with evidence of abuse and reports it on their advice.
