Since January 2022, Toulon station (Var) has been the subject of accessibility works. Remember that this development aims to make the site easily accessible to people with reduced mobility. The program also provides for the improvement of the reception and comfort of the public. The last phase of the project will begin in February 2023 and will continue until the end of 2023, under the project management of SNCF Gares & Connexions.
The work, which will take place until the summer, will include the raising and securing of the two platforms as well as the installation of signaling strips. The finishing touches will notably concern the complete refurbishment of the platform shelters. They will also include the repair, painting of the structure and the resumption of rainwater collection. Added to this will be the installation of furniture (benches, lighting, panels) and the adaptation of stairs and lifts.
This operation amounts to more than 6 million euros. The project is financed by the State, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and SNCF Gares & Connexions.
