Decision Chelsea let go Jorginho to Arsenal was a surprise. Blues defender, Thiago Silvafelt the loss of the Italian midfielder.
Jorginho was sold to Chelsea Arsenal on the last day of the winter transfer window worth £12 million. He signed a 1.5 year contract with the Gunners, with an option for a further year.
Silva, who won the Champions League title with Jorginho, complained about his colleague’s departure. On the other hand, the man from Brazil tries to understand it.
“That’s for direct rivals, but in terms of football this is happening. He wants to stay in England because he has family here. There are things we can’t control, but we have to understand the player’s side,” Silva told ESPN Brasil.
Jorginho is not just an influential player on the pitch. The former Napoli player is also active in the dressing room and someone needs to patch that role.
“I know we have a lot of work ahead, especially because we have lost one of the great leaders in the locker room,” Silva explained.
“Jorginho is a man who talks a lot and this hole will remain, but we have to move on. We didn’t expect him to leave, but it has happened. We have to make up for his absence in the best possible way.”
Jorginho has played 213 matches for Chelsea. For four and a half years, Jorginho has not tasted a title on British soil, but has been able to reap sweet results on the European continent.
