After December 26, the migration services began to massively refuse to issue a residence permit on the basis of the universal 32nd article of the law on aliens and international protection. The essence of its wording is that the Turkish authorities do not see you have enough intentions to travel around the country. And these are simply refusals – without comments, explanation of new rules or other factors that could justify such changes.
The migration service officers answered the applicants’ questions with everything that could come to their mind. There were different versions. The most plausible looks “pre-election”. According to this version, the authorities are trying to reduce the flow of migrants from the CIS, which caused real estate prices to rise, before the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14, 2023. The issue of migration policy is always on the electoral agenda here.
