The Tarn-et-Garonne departmental waste union absolutely wants to encourage residents to reduce the volume of their garbage cans.
In Tarn-et-Garonne, each of the one hundred thousand inhabitants of the department produces on average 233 kilos of garbage per year. But while the general tax on polluting activities, set by the State at 24 euros per ton of household waste, will increase to 65 euros per ton in 2025, there is an urgent need to reduce the volume of garbage cans.
This is why the five household waste collection unions that are part of the Tarn-et-Garonne departmental waste union (SDD 82) signed a local program for the prevention of household and similar waste on Monday 30 January. This document provides planning a six-year waste reduction policy.
The Tarn-et-Garonne in the fight against bio-waste
One way is to take compostable waste, green waste and food waste out of the garbage binsas the report The dispatch from the South. A study carried out last year shows that 42% of the waste in the bins is bio-waste. They can easily be eliminated through composting. It can be set up in a garden.
Also, dedicated collections can recover compostable waste. Moreover, the specific collection of this biodegradable waste has just been launched on Lafrancaise, on the outskirts of Montauban. And in the capital of Tarn-et-Garonne, a collection is organized by scooter in the city center.
In the commune of Le Pin, 30 kilometers west of Montauban, the Apag company has invested in the construction of a super-methanizer. It will be able to absorb 30,000 tons of bio-waste per year. The dispatch says that at the end of the year, it will be able to swallow up the annual production of the entire population of Tarn-et-Garonne.
