TASIK CITY, RADARTASIK.COM – Indonesia experience a phenomenon hybrid solar eclipse of 2023.
In fact, this solar eclipse will be seen very clearly in some areas in Indonesia.
The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed that Indonesia has experienced several solar eclipses, namely total solar eclipse (1983), ring solar eclipse (2019), and total solar eclipse (2016).
Meanwhile, a hybrid solar eclipse is expected to occur on April 20, 2023.

A hybrid solar eclipse is an eclipse that is visible from some parts of the Earth as a total eclipse, but in other parts of the world as an annular solar eclipse.
Researcher at the BRIN Space Research Center, Johan Muhamad, explained that the April 20, 2023 solar eclipse in the Indonesian region is very special because it is a hybrid solar eclipse that rarely occurs.
In Indonesia this eclipse will be observed as a total solar eclipse (GMT).
GMT will be observed mainly in eastern Indonesia, while other areas of Indonesia will be observed as a partial solar eclipse.

This eclipse is observed as an annular solar eclipse in the southern Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
At GMT 2023, the trajectory or orbit of the Moon’s core (umbra) shadow on the Earth’s surface will pass through parts of eastern Indonesia.
Johan explained the duration of GMT at this point is 1 minute 16 seconds. Most of the 2023 GMT trajectories pass through sea areas such as the Timor Sea and the Banda Sea.
The land that the GMT route passes is part of Timor Leste and several areas in West Papua.
