Moscow Warns Israel Not to Supply Arms to Ukraine

Jakarta

Russia warned Israel so as not to supply weapons to Ukraine. The warning came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was considering military aid for Kyiv and was willing to mediate in the conflict.

“We said that all countries that supply weapons (to Ukraine) must understand that we will regard these (weapons) as legitimate targets for the Russian armed forces,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. 2/2023).

Since the start of Russia’s attack on Ukraine in February last year, Israel has been wary of Moscow and has tried to maintain neutrality. Israel has particularly emphasized the relationship between the two countries.

“Every attempted or even not realized but announced supply of additional, new or other weapons leads and will lead to an escalation of this crisis and everyone should be aware of this,” Zakharova said.

Washington and Berlin have said they will supply Ukraine with modern tanks. However, Ukraine has also asked its backers to supply fighter jets and long-range artillery.
