The figures on the most important form of cancer after lung cancer therefore do not lie: the year is only a month away, but this year 750 people in Belgium have already been told that they have bowel cancer. Every day, 9 people die from the disease in our country. “And that while the survival rate with colon cancer, if the disease is detected early enough, is more than 90 percent,” says doctor Luc Colemont, gastrointestinal specialist and Managing Director of the non-profit organization Stop Bowel Cancer.
