Emergency services in Arnhem found a body of a deceased person on Tuesday evening at the location where a large fire raged for a long time. Police are still investigating the person’s identity.
The fire broke out early Tuesday morning in De Wiltstraat in the Sint Marten district. Seven homes are currently uninhabitable. According to the fire service, two of those buildings have been completely destroyed and the five other houses have suffered very serious damage.
The fire started from an unknown cause around 05.45 am. The exact location of the fire has yet to be determined by fire and police investigations.
Firefighters had the fire under control after more than six hours. Investigation into the cause of the fire is only possible after extinguishing.
