China has announced that it will conduct PCR tests at airports for all arrivals from Korea starting tomorrow (the 1st).
The Chinese government argued that it was an equal measure against the Korean government’s discriminatory measures.

China narrowly targeted only passengers on direct flights departing from Korea.
It is a policy that upon arrival at a Chinese airport, PCR testing will be compulsory, and if positive, quarantine at home or accommodation.
The Korean Embassy in China announced that it had received this policy through diplomatic channels, but said that it was still figuring out the location of the test, who would pay for it, the place of quarantine, and the period.
Uncomfortable feelings towards the Korean government are conveyed in the surprise notification from the Chinese authorities.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said there was a reason to take equal measures, and raised its voice that discriminatory restrictions targeting China should be canceled.
Earlier, on January 8, the Chinese government, which switched its quarantine policy to ‘With Corona’, abolished quarantine and PCR tests for foreign arrivals.
However, when the Korean government restricted the issuance of short-term visas to Korea in consideration of the large-scale spread of Corona 19 in China, it resisted by suspending the issuance of short-term visas to China for Koreans.
And when the Korean government extended the visa restrictions for another month, he expressed regret in preparation for other countries welcoming tourists from China.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo explained that visa restrictions for Chinese still need to be judged carefully.
At the same time, he said that he would review whether to release it even before the end of February if it is judged to be tolerable by identifying the results of the Chinese Corona 19 PCR test.
