Military coup against the President Russia Vladimir Putin rated present may occur when the war on Ukraine continues. It is said that the series of setbacks experienced by Moscow troops in various regions of Ukraine will make the Russian people look for someone to blame.
As reported CNNTuesday (31/1/2023), the analysis was presented by former Putin speech writer Abbas Gallymov, who is now a political analyst in an interview with journalists CNN Erin Burnett on Monday (30/1) local time.
Gallymov said that the more Russia loses in Ukraine, and the country begins to experience difficulties due to Western sanctions, the Russian people will look for someone to blame for the situation.
“Russia’s economy is deteriorating. Losing the war. More and more bodies are being returned to Russia, so Russian citizens will have more difficulties and they will try to find explanations for why this happened, observe the political process and they will find the answer for themselves: ‘Yes, this is because our country is ruled by an old tyrant, an old dictator’,” Gallyamov said referring to Putin.
“At this moment, I think that a military coup is possible,” he said.
Gallyamov added that that moment might happen in the next 12 months.
“So in a year when the political situation changes and there is an unpopular president who is very hated as the head of state and war is really unpopular, and they need bloodshed for this, at this moment, a coup d’état becomes a real possibility,” he said.
