Investigations are continuing in the case of the banner and doll that Atletico Madrid fans hung to attack Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior.
The Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office continues investigations into the banner and hanging doll of the Brazilian Vinicius Junior, which was raised by Atletico Madrid fans before the King’s Cup derby match.
Real Madrid faced rivals Atletico on Thursday evening in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, and managed to win 3-1 after extending the game to extra innings.
However, the pre-match atmosphere was very tense between the two teams, due to the attack that targeted Vinicius Junior in particular.
The Spanish “Cadena Sir” network confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed that the incident of the banner and the hanged doll was carried out by more than one person, possibly by a group of four to six people, two of whom were watching during the completion of the operation.
Investigators are analyzing the items removed, and in addition the license plates of vehicles that have passed through the area are being tracked in an attempt to identify the perpetrators.
