Interest in blockchain and Web3 technology studies is growing rapidly in the world :: Dienas Bizness

Within six months, the Ukraine education initiative project organized by Binance has grown into an international blockchain technology and Web3 education project, which is joined by more and more countries and educational institutions around the world.

The Web3 education initiative program was launched last June by the philanthropic group Binance Charity in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to help residents of Eastern Ukraine, who have lost their jobs due to the war, to retrain and return to the labor market in Western Ukraine. As part of the education initiative, the world’s leading crypto platform Binance has already received more than 82,200 applications for Web3 education within six months.

The program received a great response, and in addition to Ukraine, other countries – France, Germany, Australia, Senegal, Nigeria, Cyprus, South Africa and Brazil – also joined the educational initiative. In 2022, a total of more than 2.2 million US dollars were donated to various program projects, providing students in these countries with the opportunity to learn various Web3-related courses for free. To date, donations have funded 259,180 training hours and workshops.

As part of the educational program, Binance Charity cooperates with Binance Academy, universities and training centers, including Kyiv IT Cluster, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, University of Western Australia, University of Nicosia, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, international movement Women in Tech, etc.

“The interest in Binance Web3 educational projects is unexpectedly huge. It shows that people all over the world have a strong desire to learn about blockchain technology, De-Fi, NFT and coding. Moreover, this interest is very broad and among the most diverse groups of people. Among them, there is also great interest from the women’s side. Therefore, we are currently actively preparing a lot of new technology education initiatives in cooperation with excellent partners around the world, in order to be able to satisfy the huge interest among the population,” emphasizes Polina Brotje, representative of Binance in Latvia.

The Binance Education Project is providing vocational training to 10,000 people in Germany, including a special course for 2,000 women. In France, on the other hand, 10,000 unemployed people from various disadvantaged groups are being trained to start work in the fast-growing blockchain industry. In Brazil and South Africa, in partnership with Women in Tech, 2,800 women in rural communities are being provided vocational training, creating future entrepreneurs and new jobs.

In Nigeria, 1,000 residents have been awarded one-year blockchain and Web3 scholarships for an intensive skills training program and transition to better-paying jobs.

The courses offered by Binance are available both online and in person. They are of different duration – starting with short introductory trainings up to 12-month courses. Topics include blockchain technology, programming, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, etc. Currently, Binance Charity’s education initiative is only in its early stages as more countries and educational institutions continue to join.
