Lacey Amour (23) from Wales in the UK is one of many who have built a successful profile on the social platform OnlyFans.
OnlyFans is basically a web service where content producers can make money from users who subscribe to content.
Not illegal
The platform is open to everything from fitness gurus to make-up influencers – but has largely been embraced by people who want to offer pornography.
The service is not illegal in Norway, states Slettmeg.no in collaboration with Ung:

– There is an age limit of 18 to create a user. As long as the people depicted are over 18, nudity and pornography are legal, they write.
23-year-old Lacey is one of the creators of porn content on OnlyFans. She has been doing that for three years now, she tells the British local newspaper Wales Online.
She started to pay for her university studies. Then it got worse. Today she is a full-time porn star with 1,400 subscribers.
Talking about OnlyFans
Now she speaks out about the stigma that comes with the job, and reveals the truth about selling porn through social media.
– I earn well from OnlyFans, but it is not as it is portrayed on social media. There it looks like you just set up a page, and then you earn NOK 100,000. It’s not like that at all, she says.
In the beginning, Lacey earned around NOK 1,200 a week. It went on like this for a long time, until she decided to invest full time.

When she gave up her studies 1.5 years ago, more money started to come in. Lacey says she earned around NOK 25,000 a month.
Now it is increasing rapidly, according to the 23-year-old’s own statement.
Have to test yourself
However, this is not the case for everyone. Lacey says that an average OnlyFans profile earns about NOK 1,800 a month. She says it is not at all as easy as it seems to make money on OnlyFans.
The young porn star lists a number of things that she has had to manage on her own, such as setting up the page, planning and filming content, running marketing and managing a number of accounts on social media.
She also reveals more unusual work routines, such as buying underwear and props, devising new film scenes – and not least: traveling regularly to a medical clinic to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
She herself claims to spend all her waking hours smoking her OnlyFans account, revealing that her mobile phone is active 20 hours a day.
– I’m afraid
There is no shortage of challenges in the porn industry, Lacey is to be believed. She talks about challenges such as the internet, people showing your content to family members, you risk being rejected by friends and family, stalkers or accounts being deleted or reported.

Lacey thinks the worst part about working in the porn industry is not being taken seriously as an entrepreneur. She also says that she fears for her own safety all the time, because she is a woman.
– As a female sex worker, men assume that I am easy on the wire. I’m scared every single time I meet a new guy alone to shoot, even though I always check references. You never know what people can do.
She emphasizes that she herself has never been in a specific dangerous situation, but claims that there are many in the industry who have been exposed to something.
