Insurers like Progressive and State Farm in Texas are refusing to cover Kia and Hyundai brand vehicles made between 2015 and 2019 because they don’t have immobilizers that prevent keyless starting. Experts point out that the decision was made due to the increase in theft of these cars. “They are covering what is more than the minimum insurance to be able to drive in Texas, but not complete protection,” said Yadira Lagunas, an insurance agent.
