A driver was detained after trying to bribe traffic policemen in Plovdiv. During traffic safety work, around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, a team from the “Traffic Police” sector noticed an improperly parked Volkswagen car in the area of the intersection between “Dunav” Blvd. and “Tsar Boris III Obedinitel” Blvd.
For the violation of the Road Traffic Act, the 56-year-old driver was warned that he would be fined with a ticket. However, he decided to thwart the actions of the uniformed and offered them 20 BGN.
The case was immediately reported to the operative part of the Third RU, and the arriving duty group carried out an inspection and seized the two banknotes with a denomination of BGN 10. With a police order, the driver was detained for up to 24 hours. Quick proceedings were initiated, the District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv was notified.
