WhatsApp releases NEW “Camera Mode” for all users

O WhatsApp changed a lot over the years, but something that has stayed pretty much the same is its camera, the interface that pops up for capture a photo and upload it directly in the app. This interface has now received one of its most important redesigns.

WhatsApp has activated the new camera interface for everyone, which separates photo and video into two separate tabs. The change allows us to capture a video in hands-free mode (without holding the button down) and also frees up the screen for viewing recent photos.

How to use WhatsApp’s new camera mode: step by step guide

The next time you open WhatsApp’s camera to attach a photo or video to a chat, you might notice something different. Although subtle, the camera interface has been changed with a new design which is now available to all users.

All you have to do is open the camera as if you were going to take any picture as usual, so instead of taking pictures you have to switch to video and start capturing with just one click. Then see the next steps:

  1. open the WhatsApp
  2. Open the WhatsApp camera by clicking on the camera icon in the top right corner.
  3. switch to mode Video that appears to the left of the capture button.
  4. Press the button here to start recording.

As you can see in the screenshot below, it only takes a few clicks to record a short video. Best of all, you won’t have to hold down the capture button.

This is something that will facilitate and improve the experience for many users.

We’ve all taken a photo with the WhatsApp camera at some point and we know that traditionally to record a video you had to hold down the capture button. This can be a bit tricky as it would be much easier to start recording with a single click. Thanks to this new mode, you don’t have to hold to record a video, but you can switch to video mode, making it easier to record a video. That is, the WhatsApp camera has been redesigned, bringing the possibility of quickly switching from photo mode to video mode and vice versa.
