Slovak football defender Boris Godál from FK Železiarne Podbrezová will be a guest at the Al Adalah club in the Saudi Arabian top competition at least until the end of the season. Slovakian Martin Ševela is the head coach of the team.
The portal informed about the transfer Transfer market. Al Adalah is currently in the penultimate place in the highest competition of Saudi Arabia. It became visible at the turn of the year, when the Portuguese megastar Cristiano Ronaldo transferred to the Al Nassr club.
Podbrezová also informed about hosting on her website. However, it is not known how much the “ironworkers” collect. This is already the second big transfer for the Fortuna league newcomer, earlier in January striker Moses Cobnan left for Russian Krasnodar for a million euros.
Boris Godál is a member of AS Trenčín, in whose jersey he started in the top competition. He also played for Spartak Trnava, with whom he won the league in the 2017/2018 season, and Podbrezová. Outside of Slovakia, he worked in Zaglebí Lubin in Poland or AEL Limassol in Cyprus.
“Yesterday, we were approached by the Arab club FC Al Adalah, whose coach is Martin Ševela, that they would be interested in hosting Boris Godál. After considering and talking with Boris, we decided to release him, since at his age this is a fantastic chance in several respects.
It’s a reward for his career and especially for what he did for Podbrezová, and we had no choice but to release him. In his new club, Boris will have a great chance to play against one of the best football players in history, Cristiano Ronaldo.
As for us, his departure will certainly be felt, but we will do everything to continue the established trend, hard work and replace Boris, either in the cabin or on the field. We thank him for the work done and keep our fingers crossed for him on behalf of FK Železiarne Podbrezová,” stated for Podbrezová’s website general manager Miroslav Poliaček.
Boris Godál is looking forward to his new place of work. “I received an offer to go to Saudi Arabia. It was like a bolt from the blue and I had nothing to hesitate because at my age that rarely happens.
Saudi Arabia went crazy after the World Cup and especially after they beat Argentina, so now it’s alive with football and players like Cristiano Ronaldo are coming. Being able to play against such players – such an offer is not refused.
On the other hand, I regret that I had to leave the cabin so suddenly to meet the transfer deadline. I didn’t even have time to say goodbye in person, on the other hand, it’s only a six-month visit. It will pass quickly. I will pick up new experiences and then pass them on to the boys when I get back. I keep my fingers crossed for the team and thank you for everything.” the veteran defender stated.
