RISK OF BREAKING IN THE RO CASTRO DAM (SAN SADURNIO)
On the other hand, after 4:10 p.m. this Friday, the personnel of the company in charge of the Castro River dam alerted 112 Galicia that it had weakened, and that there was a risk of breaking.
They explain from the service that, in the event this were to happen, it would cause a sudden rise in the flow of the river, which runs through the municipalities of San Sadurnio, Neda, Narn, and which flows into the Rio Grande de Xubia.
Faced with this situation, 112 requested the collaboration of the Valdeorras Fire Brigade and the Civil Guard, and informed the GES and the A Veiga Civil Protection Volunteer Group in case their intervention was necessary.
The risk of flooding makes it necessary for people to avoid approaching the banks of the affected river.
