[モスクワ 30日 ロイター] – Russia’s foreign ministry said on Monday it wanted to take its relationship with China to a “new level” and hoped for face-to-face talks with senior Chinese officials.
“I am convinced that the potential for bilateral cooperation between Russia and China is far from exhausted,” he said. It said it aims to achieve its goal of expanding bilateral trade to $200 billion ahead of schedule and to “significantly deepen” its relationship with China.
Earlier, Russian business magazine Vedomosti reported that China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, would visit Russia in February.
According to reports, Wang may meet with Putin. The purpose of the visit was unclear, but it could be related to preparations for President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia, the sources said.
China’s foreign ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a regular briefing that he was not aware of Wang’s visit to Russia.
