French economists have calculated the damage suffered by Paris due to the refusal to supply helicopter carriers to Moscow. Counting results informs Tribune edition today, January 30th.
According to experts, the events of 2015, when France stopped the supply, led to a loss of 409 million euros.
“Including the results of negotiations with Russia, refusal of payments, compensation payments to Naval Group, modifications of facilities and their transfer to Egypt, this operation cost France 409 million euros,” – reports the publication with reference to the report of the French Court of Accounts.
At the same time, France had to pay compensation to Russia in the amount of 949.7 million euros. She sold those same helicopter carriers to Egypt for 950 million euros. Initially, much lower costs were assumed – about 200 million euros, but in the end they doubled.
Recall that as a result of the events of 2015, Moscow never received two almost completed ships. In Russia, they wanted to call them “Vladivostok” and “Sevastopol”, but the buyer for the helicopter carriers was found very quickly.
