The DBS name has long been associated with cars of refined style and sporty performance, and has graced some of Aston Martin’s finest flagships. Since 2018, the DBS has been at the top of Aston Martin’s production model range with its Twin-Turbo V12 engine and original styling. As production of the current generation DBS comes to an end, Aston Martin is launching a version of the DBS that surpasses anything seen before – the DBS 770 Ultimate.
The most powerful production Aston Martin ever, and the fastest and most powerful DBS to date, features significant design and engineering improvements. The DBS 770 Ultimate presents itself as an unforgettable and highly desirable flagship of the Aston Martin Super GT, while also celebrating the departure of the current DBS model with grandeur. The “DBS770 Ultimate” will be available in both “Coupe” and “Volante” format and will be produced in a strictly limited number of 300 “Coupe” and 199 “Volante” copies. It is interesting that all 499 copies have already been sold even before the official release of the model.
At the heart of the DBS 770 Ultimate is the most impressive version of Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter V12 engine yet. It develops 770 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, allowing the “DBS 770 Ultimate” to reach a maximum speed of 340 km/h. The massive power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited slip differential (LSD). Also, “DBS 770 Ultimate” has a unique transmission calibration, improving the switching speed and the driver’s driving experience.
In order to make steering more precise and the driver’s connection with the road, “DBS 770 Ultimate” has an improved steering system. Improvements have also been made in the adaptive damping system (ADS) – “DBS 770 Ultimate” has acquired a unique calibration of shock absorbers, emphasizing handling, but at the same time not losing driving comfort, claims the car manufacturer.
In addition to technical innovations, “DBS 770” has also received changes in design to provide a convincing aesthetic appearance and mark the end of the current “DBS” era. In accordance with the philosophy of “Aston Martin”, visual improvements fulfill not only an aesthetic, but also a functional role. Its front radiator grille has become larger, providing not only a more impressive appearance, but also more air flow to the radiators. The air that has passed through the radiators returns to the atmosphere through a new, specially designed opening built into the engine hood. Also, two openings in the redesigned front bumper splitter are used for airflow. All these elements greatly aid the cooling system, while highlighting the design signatures of previous “DBS” and V12 engine models.
The “DBS 770 Ultimate” has got numerous carbon fiber elements as standard equipment, visible from all angles of the car. The side profile is enhanced by new carbon fiber side skirts, while the rear is dominated by a newly designed diffuser. Also, the appearance of the “DBS 770 Ultimate” is complemented by uniquely designed 21″ rims, available in three different finishing styles.
In the interior, “DBS 770 Ultimate” stands out with new design solutions, while maintaining the immediately recognizable cabin environment of the current “DBS”. Standard equipment includes “Sport Plus” seats, finished in a combination of leather and “Alcantara” with a special perforation pattern. The exclusive character is complemented by contrasting color stitching, a laser-engraved “DBS 770 Ultimate” logo and carbon fiber gear shift paddles.
The exclusive model also features unique door sill plates featuring Aston Martin fenders, the DBS 770 Ultimate logo and limited edition numbering, indicating that this is one of only 300 coupes or 199 convertibles. As with all Aston Martin models, the unique personalization possibilities of the DBS 770 Ultimate are practically unlimited. With Q by Aston Martin options covering a range of graphics, wheel rim colors and finishes, it’s possible to create the DBS 770 Ultimate of your dreams that will not only be one of 499, but truly one-of-a-kind.
The production of “DBS 770 Ultimate” will start already in the first quarter of this year, while the first deliveries to customers are planned for the third quarter of 2023.
The current DBS is the second of two generations of the V12-powered DBS introduced during the Gaydon era at Aston Martin. With its design, muscular body lines and breathtaking performance, the current generation, launched in 2018, quickly became synonymous with Aston Martin’s unique Super GT brand. The current model and its predecessor (which was produced from 2007 to 2018) have appeared in a total of three legendary James Bond films – 2006’s “Casino Royale”, 2008’s “Quantum of Solace” and 2021’s “No Time To Die”.
The name “Ultimate” also has its own rich history. It has been used so far on two generations of DBS, as well as both generations of Vanquish, each time marking the end of an era, ie the end of production of a model. Because of their rarity and importance, Aston Martins with the Ultimate name are among the most highly valued models of today.
“Aston Martin” has not publicly disclosed the price of this model, however, foreign media have learned that it is over 300 thousand euros.
