A 61-year-old from Fröndenberger drove on Friday (January 27) at around 6:15 p.m. on Ardeyer Strasse in a westerly direction. A 28-year-old from Fröndenberger drove east on Ardeyer Straße.
In the curve area, the 61-year-old got into oncoming traffic due to his alcohol consumption, resulting in a collision with the oncoming 28-year-old.
This emerges from an accident report from the district police authority, which reached this editorial office late on Sunday evening (10:30 p.m.).
Both people involved in the accident had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. According to the police, they remained here for the purpose of monitoring and treatment.
Ordered to take blood from the person who caused the accident
A blood test was ordered and carried out on the 61-year-old who caused the accident. The roadway was completely closed while the accident was being recorded.
The public order office and the lower water authority were also on site due to leaking operating materials. Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed away. There was property damage of around 40,000 euros.
According to the Fröndenberg volunteer fire brigade, the north and south extinguishing trains had also been alerted. “Fire protection was ensured for both cars, leaking operating materials were bound with oil binding agents,” the fire brigade announced. The operation lasted 2:45 hours.
