More than 50 people were killed in two separate accidents in Pakistan on Sunday. At least 41 people died when a bus drove off a bridge and caught fire. In addition, at least ten children drowned when a boat they were on overturned.
The boat accident happened on a lake in northwest Pakistan, close to the border with Afghanistan. The victims, aged between seven and fourteen, were on a school trip. Nine children are still missing. Eleven others have been rescued, six of them in critical condition.
The deadly bus accident happened in the southwest of the country. The vehicle was en route to the port city of Karachi when it crashed. According to local authorities, the bodies had been burned beyond recognition. Only two people survived the accident. Their condition is still critical.
