Commissioner of PT Arema Aremania Bersatu Berprestasi Indonesia (PT AABBI) Tatang Dwi Arfianto said the directors and management immediately gathered after the riot incident during a demonstration in front of the ‘Lion’s Cage’, Sunday (29/1)
Previously, management had thought of the many Malang people who live off football, especially Arema FC, such as MSMEs, street vendors and other small businesses. However, this should be reconsidered if the presence of Arema FC actually disrupts conduciveness.
“But if it is felt that Arema FC is considered to be disturbing conduciveness, of course there are separate considerations regarding its existence or what it looks like, but we still leave it to many parties,” Tatang explained in a statement received detikJatimMonday (30/1/2023).
Tatang said that the management of Arema FC had made every effort after the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. Start opening crisis center to assist victims. Then facing the process and lawsuits and maintaining the existence of the club so that it continues to carry out the League 1 competition. Apart from that, Arema FC also cannot escape the trap. sanctions and fines are given by the Indonesian football federation.
“We fully understand the prolonged mourning. We will continue to try and try to get this situation back to normal,” he said.
Tatang admitted that what Arema FC experienced for yesterday’s incident was not comparable to the grief experienced by Aremania during the Kanjuruhan incident.
“Of course we respond to this incident. Directors and management gather, discuss what the next steps are,” he said.
As previously reported, hundreds of Aremania held a demonstration in front of the Arema FC office. Unfortunately, the action ended in chaos.
The rioting broke out for a moment when the mass and the Arema FC office guards were involved in the friction. Stones and paint were thrown by the masses towards the Arema FC office.
After the riot, a number of Arema FC office guards were injured. There were even 3 people who had to be rushed to RSSA Malang because they needed medical treatment.
The police have conducted a crime scene (TKP) and are conducting an in-depth investigation to investigate the cause of the rioting.
Police say they have secured 107 after the riot. Currently, the police are still seeking information from the person who is suspected of being involved in the destruction of the Arema FC office.
