Karyanti revealed that severe abdominal pain and any bleeding that occurs in children can be a sign of further danger of dengue fever.
“Any bleeding, on the skin, nosebleeds, bleeding gums. Immediately take them to the hospital. Or if the child is restless, his hands and feet feel cold,” said Karyanti.
On the same occasion, Karyanti also explained what matters need to be monitored routinely by parents. The first thing relates to children’s drinking intake. When experiencing dengue fever, children need to drink as often as possible.
“There are signs and symptoms that are important to monitor by parents when a child has a fever. Pay attention to drinking intake, input. He must drink as often as possible so he doesn’t become dehydrated,” said Karyanti.
“But see, can he receive drinks or not? If he keeps vomiting and can’t drink liquids, then keep taking him to the hospital,” he added.
