As advanced news, this Sunday, by the French newspaper The TeamWest Ham have joined Aston Villa in the race for Marseille midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi, 23, capped by the French national team, registering a goal in seven appearances for the blue.
Guendouzi, of Moroccan descent, interestingly the same nationality as the most recent Marseille signing, one of the great revelations of the 2022 World Cup, Azzedine Ounahi, can play in any midfield position, and is valued at €25M after the French club won him acquired permanently from Arsenal this season for 11 million euros.
Mattéo Guendouzi, another product of the Paris Saint-Germain formation, wasted by the formation of the capital, was signed by the gunners to Lorient in 2018/19, having then been loaned to German side Hertha Berlin and Marseille, where he established himself as one of the main figures of the club where the Portuguese Nuno Tavares and the former FC Porto Chancel Mbemba work.
With a goal and three assists in Ligue 1, Guendouzi is one of the most used players, with 1,305 minutes spread over 18 games, 15 of which as a starter.
