What does your supermarket pattern look like?
“Usually I go to a supermarket that I am near. Usually that is Albert Heijn. But it could just as well be ALDI, like now.”
What did you come to do in this neighborhood?
“I had just passed the Albert Cuyp market. This supermarket is on my way back home.”
Do you also buy products on the market?
“If I see something, like artichokes or something, I buy them.”
Is the market still cheaper than the supermarket?
“Not the Albert Cuyp, but the Dappermarkt in East is really very cheap.”
Do you ever go there to do some shopping?
“No. Just for the walk. I just enjoy strolling around the market.”
I do keep an eye out for offers, but luckily I don’t have to.
Are there any changes in your buying habits now that prices have risen?
“No. Luckily I don’t have to.”
A luxury position!
“Yes. I do look for offers, but luckily I don’t have to.”
What do you think of the current price increases?
“Ridiculous of course. If you have little income…”
Are you concerned about the Netherlands in that sense?
“All over the world, I think. If you see England, it’s even worse there.”
Are you into cooking?
“If I have dinner, yes. But I’m single, so I cook what I feel like.”
How many days are these messages for?
“Ooh, I don’t know.”
You just buy something, when it suits you?
“Except when my grandchildren are here. I have six.”
I noticed that meat has become considerably more expensive. I ate it little. But every once in a while I get to spoil myself.
Do you ever babysit the grandchildren?
“Not anymore. They’re all taller than me.”
Are tasty things brought when they come by?
“Mostly yes. A lot of them are vegetarian, so I have now secretly bought all meat products for myself.”
Why secretly?
“Of course they don’t like that meat very much, neither do I. You also have to think about the environment a bit. I did notice that the meat has become considerably more expensive. I ate little of it. But very occasionally I can pampering myself, I think.”
Are there any tips you can give readers regarding grocery shopping?
“Not at all, haha! Maybe the readers can give me a tip.”
