The José Val del Omar School of Art organizes the VIII Design Week

The José Val del Omar School of Art in Granada organizes, from January 30 to February 3, the eighth edition of Design Week, in which they will give talks and will hold workshops with professionals and specialists in the plastic arts and fashion design, graphic, interiors, product and other specialties.

It will have 28 workshops and 12 talk-workshops for the students of the School of Art; Y 10 charlas y 8 conferences open to all public, in the Escuela de Arte José Val del Omar de Granada, Centro Federico García Lorca, Fundación Euroárabe de Altos Estudios and Library of Andalusia.

These conferences have as objectives: highlight the importance that design plays in social development; promote the creation of a design culture that values ​​its role in society, its multidisciplinary character y transversal; create a favorable framework for their teaching; project to the city of Granada the work that is carried out daily to train future Design and Arts professionals; put students in contact with the professional environment.

The Design Week It is an opportunity and an example for students to acquire and develop all entrepreneurial skills from all dimensions and pedagogical areas. The goal is that the students collect the entrepreneurship as a fundamental strategy in the construction of the vital and professional project of the students, reinforcing the commitment of the José Val del Omar School of Art in Granada for the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship of the students.

Design Week is part of the set of actions that the José Val del Omar School of Art in Granada has been carrying out in the field of Higher Artistic Design Education and also supposes the commitment of the Center for the consolidation of these teachings.

Program

The VIII Design Week It constitutes a space for meeting, confluence and diffusion of activities that revolve around Design and the Arts. It is a space for transference and for create synergies between the School and other institutions that contribute to the promotion and diffusion of design, art and culture.

The José Val del Omar School of Art de Granada offers a wide range of Plastic Arts and Design Education: Higher Education Training Cycles in Animation, Comics, Textile Art, Engraving and Stamping Techniques, Projects and Direction of Decoration Works, Artistic Ceramics, Silver Gilding and Polychromy, Photography , Illustration and Sculptural Techniques; and Intermediate Training Cycles in Enameling on Metals, Goldsmithing and Silverware Procedures, Artistic Forging, Islamic Ornamentation, Artistic Reproductions in Wood and Artistic Reproductions in Stone. In addition, the Baccalaureate of Plastic Arts, Design and Image and Higher Artistic Education in Graphic Design and Fashion Design are taught.
