- The DPI button is below
When you first hold the Razer Viper V2 Pro, you will immediately feel that this mouse is not an ordinary mouse. Its very light weight gives a different sensation because it feels like it’s almost just a mere frame without anything in it.
This is not surprising because the Viper V2 Pro is claimed to only weigh 58 grams. Razer provides several changes compared to Viper Ultimate, such as the loss of RGB to a new battery to reach this number.
As a result, every movement can be done easily because the mouse doesn’t feel burdensome at all, especially when doing flick shots. The mouse can also be lifted constantly and the hands don’t get tired quickly because not much energy is needed.
Overall, the Viper V2 Pro, which has a symmetrical body, looks plain with black wrapping covering the entire body, even the Razer logo is embossed in black. There are only LED lights near the wheels that act as power and DPI indicators.
Even though it’s light, interestingly the Viper V2 Pro still has a fairly sturdy construction with materials that feel quality. The dimensions of the body are quite fit so that the palm can rest well.
Plus the surface of the mouse also provides a pretty good grip which keeps the hands from slipping. But if you feel it’s lacking, Razer also provides additional mouse grip tape to attach.
Every button, both main and side, feels tactile when pressed thanks to the use of the Razer Optical Switch Gen-3 which is claimed to last up to 90 million clicks. The Viper V2 Pro itself only provides two side buttons as additional input to keep its weight light.
Meanwhile, the DPI button which also functions as Power is available at the bottom. In addition, of course, there are feet made of 100% PTFE which allow the mouse to glide smoothly and minimize friction on the mousepad.
At the center of it all, the Viper V2 Pro relies on the Razer Focus Pro optical sensor with a maximum sensitivity level of up to 30,000 DPI. Combined with a polling rate of up to 4000Hz, this one gaming mouse can precisely read every movement.
Never did the cursor or aim encounter any problems during testing. Even very small movements can be detected properly so that hovering the mouse feels more accurate. Of course, with a fairly high polling rate, it also provides a very fast response rate.
As a wireless mouse, the presence of Razer Hyperspeed technology allows uninterrupted connection. That way things like lag or delayed input can be said to have disappeared because it never happened during use.
Therefore, there is no doubt about the toughness of the Viper V2 Pro in terms of accuracy and response rate. But the advantages don’t stop there because the customization options provided are also quite extensive.
Through the Razer Synapse application which can be downloaded immediately when the mouse is connected, various settings are provided including changing each function of the buttons on the Viper V2 Pro according to needs. This mouse also has on board memory that can store one profile.
Of course, there are also DPI level settings, polling rates, and power to save battery usage. But for competitive gamers, tracking calibration to match the mousepad and Asymmetric Cut-off support are very useful additional options.
That way the mouse can still detect movement precisely, including when the mouse is lifted and placed again. For gamers who often play FPS, of course, this feature will be very helpful in getting more consistent shots and making the most of this wireless mouse.
As for the battery life itself, the Viper V2 Pro can be used for about a week until the power is completely depleted by using about 12 hours every day. This figure is in accordance with Razer’s claim which reaches 80 hours.
However, battery power will decrease faster if you use maximum polling continuously so that the usage period will vary depending on usage. Meanwhile charging takes about 2 hours until it is fully charged again via the USB-C port on the front.
The sales package includes a Speedflex cable which is very flexible and flexible so it won’t hinder movement if you want to use the Viper V2 Pro while connected to a computer or charging. In addition, there is also a USB dongle adapter and a wireless USB dongle as accessories.
If you don’t want to use it wirelessly, the Viper V2 Pro can be connected directly to a computer via a cable without having to install a dongle. That way it still provides flexibility of use without having to stick to just one mode.
Overall, the Razer Viper V2 Pro is a very light gaming mouse that can provide an excellent user experience both wirelessly and wired. The customization options presented make this mouse usable differently depending on your wishes. It’s just a shame the battery at least needs to be recharged once a week.
The design might indeed look a little boring to some people, but the matter of quality and comfort still deserves thumbs up. With a price in the range of Rp. 2,499,000, this mouse can be a consideration for those of you who want to be one step ahead of the enemy when playing competitively.
