December 2 in New Orleans

Emmanuel Macron had not been able to travel in 2018 for the 300th anniversary of the city founded by the Frenchman Jean Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. This time he is going, becoming the third French president in history to visit the capital of Louisiana, Charles de Gaulle in 1960 and Valéry Giscard d’Estaing in 1976.

Emmanuel Macron will announce the creation of a Fund for the French language, to support language learning in schools in the United States. He will discuss the climate with the governor of Louisiana, a State particularly sensitive to climate change (threatened by the rise of the oceans, especially when the hurricanes arrive, but also by the floods of the Mississippi…).

Culture and music will also be on the program during a “wandering” which promises to be historic in the French Quarter of the city!
