Russia has brought its war against Ukraine to “a different phase” in carrying out indiscriminate attacks against civilians and non-military targets, a senior European Union official said on Friday, criticizing Moscow for provoking the recent decision by Germany and the United States to supply advanced main battle tanks to his rival.
Stefano Sanninor, Secretary General of the European External Action Service of the EU, defended sending military equipment to Ukraine by Berlin and Washington and accused the Russian president, Vladimir Putinto wage war against NATO and the West.
At a press conference in Tokyo as part of his Asia-Pacific tour, Sannino said Putin had “passed from a concept of a special operation to a concept now of war against NATO and the West.”
