Ski – Shiffrin one step away from Stenmark: at Spindleruv Mlyn the triumph n. 85

Dominance of the American in the first of the two slaloms in the Czech Republic. On the podium Duerr and Holdener; the blue Gulli was fourteenth

All behind Mikaela Shiffrin: after the double in the giants of Plan de Corones the American also dominates the slalom of Spindleruv Mlyn (Czech Republic) and is only one victory away from the absolute record of victories in the World Cup which belongs to Ingemar Stenmark ( 86). On the track where he made his debut in the World Cup, as a fifteen-year-old in March 2011, the plot was the same as in the last few races: two heats without errors, always in safety, without ever giving the impression of being very fast because there is no a movement out of place. Mikaela was the fastest in both the first and second heats, increasing in the second heat she still increased the advantage over the German Duerr to 60/100. Wendy Holdener (at 1”31) was also on the podium after overtaking Vlhova (fourth at 1”56).

The run-up

Shiffrin could already pair Stenmark tomorrow when another slalom is scheduled. The American – in her 11th success of the season in 22 races in which she participated – won 5 of the last 8 slaloms, only Swenn Larsson (at Killington), Holdener (at Sestriere) and Vlhova (at Flachau) managed to break the monopoly . Now in the World Cup she has an advantage of 671 points over Vlhova (1617 to 946), and the seventh specialty cup is also one step away: with three slaloms still to be contested she has 175 points ahead of Holdener.

The blue ones

Anita Gulli, the only blue to qualify for the second heat, is the protagonist of an excellent comeback: with the seventh partial time she climbed from 25th to eleventh place, the best placement in her career.
