Member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty OrganizationNATO) plans to send tanks to Ukraine to beat back Russia.
The latest is that Canada and the Netherlands will contribute to Ukraine to fight back against Russia.
Most countries want to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. However, the plan must be approved by Germany as the manufacturer of the armored vehicle.
After Germany gave the green light, the shipping plan strengthened and began to be prepared.
The following are countries that will send tanks to Ukraine.
1. Germany
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that his country will supply 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. This decision was taken after Berlin was urged to continue sending or allowing the delivery of tanks made by them to Kyiv.
“This is the result of intensive consultations carried out with Germany’s closest partners in Europe and internationally,” Scholz said in an official statement as quoted CNN.
He later said, “This decision follows our policy of supporting Ukraine to the best of our ability.”
2. United States of America
As many as 30 M1 Abrams tanks will certainly be sent by the US to Ukraine.
Two US officials told CNN that Washington is currently in the final stages of finalizing a planned delivery of 30 M1 Abrams tanks.
The tanks that will be sent by the US are confirmed to be of the M1A2 type, the most advanced and lethal type compared to the M1A1.
3. England
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he would send a number of Challenger 2 battle tanks to Ukraine.
Not only tanks, Sunak also confirmed that he would send their artillery systems to Kyiv.
However, it is not yet known when and how many tanks will be sent. The spokesperson for the British government only emphasized that the fleet would be mobilized as soon as possible so that Ukraine would not lose momentum.
4. France
On January 22, French President Emmanuel Macron acknowledged his government plans to supply Leclerc main tanks to Ukraine.
