Man City Has Knocked Out the Top of the Premier League Standings

Manchester

Pep Guardiola admitted dueling Manchester City vs Arsenal in the FA Cup runs tight. However, in the end The Citizens were able to beat the Premier League leaders.

Man City vs Arsenal took place at the Etihad Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup, Saturday (28/1/2023) early morning WIB. This marks the first meeting between the two teams this season.

Even though the Premier League has been running with the number of matches in one round, Man City and Arsenal have yet to meet each other. Arsenal so far leads the top of the standings with 50 points from 19 matches and Man City is in second place after collecting 45 points from 20 matches.

So, in this FA Cup, Man City is still stronger than Arsenal. This was proven after Guardiola’s men suppressed the London Cannons with a 1-0 win through Nathan Ake’s goal.

“We were obviously better in the second half. Arsenal have grown. It was a tight game and you realize how good they are,” Guardiola said as quoted by the BBC.

“I didn’t expect the approach from them – man to man – difficult to develop but we beat a team top of the league and are in the next round.”

Man City has the right to advance to the round of 16. On the other hand, apart from being dumped in the FA Cup, Arsenal have also run aground in the English League Cup.
