Milan Retreats From Zaniolo Hunt

Jakarta

AC Milan reportedly no longer pursuing Nicholas Zaniolo. Reports in Italy claim Milan’s owners are reluctant to spend additional transfer funds.

Milan are interested in signing Zaniolo. Zaniolo, who has 18 months left on his contract with AS Roma, also wants to leave the Olimpico.

However, Milan’s efforts to bring in Zaniolo have been hampered by price issues. The offer made by Milan is far from Rome’s request.

Milan can only offer 23-25 million euros. The Rossoneri submitted a loan proposal with an obligation to make a permanent conditional on their qualification for the Champions League.

This offer is far from the 40 million euro figure set by Roma for Zaniolo. Currently, the closest bid for Zaniolo has come from Bournemouth who offered 30 million euros.

A number of Italian media such as Gazzetta, Corriere dello Sport and Il Corriere della Sera claim that the Milan boss will not increase the budget for transfers. Milan could not compete with Bournemouth’s offer for Zaniolo.

With limited funds, AC Milan is not expected to make any purchases in the January transfer market. Recruiting Hakim Ziyech and Allan Saint-Maximin is also not possible considering that Milan may have to make up for around 20 million euros.
