Although not a member of NATO, a number of member countries provide support to Ukraine. NATO has a collective defense system, where if a member country is attacked by a third party, then each member country must intervene to help and defend. Launching the Statista page, Friday (27/1/2023), the following is a comparison of the military strength of Russia and NATO.

NATO
NATO, which consists of 30 countries, has 5,405,700 military personnel, 3,366,000 active troops, 1,301,000 reserve troops, 738,700 paramilitaries. NATO’s air force includes 3,527 interceptor aircraft, 1,048 ground attack aircraft, 1,543 transport aircraft, 1,014 reconnaissance aircraft, 8,485 helicopters, 1,359 combat helicopters.
NATO’s land fleet includes 14,682 battle tanks, 115,855 armored vehicles, 5,040 self-propelled artillery units, 5,495 artillery units, 2,803 rocket launchers. NATO also has a naval fleet, such as 2,049 units of military ships, 135 units of frigates, 56 units of corvettes, 17 units of aircraft carriers, 144 units of submarines, 298 units of patrol boats, and 153 units of minesweepers. The total number of NATO nuclear weapons is 6,065 units.

Russia
Russia has 1,350,000 military personnel, 850,000 active soldiers, 250,000 reserve troops, 250,000 paramilitaries. Russia’s air force includes 772 interceptor aircraft, 739 ground attack aircraft, 445 transport aircraft, 132 reconnaissance aircraft, 1,543 helicopters, 544 combat helicopters.
Russia’s land fleet includes 12,420 battle tanks, 30,122 armored vehicles, 6,574 self-propelled artillery units, 7,571 artillery units, 3,391 rocket launchers. Russia also has a naval fleet, namely 605 units of military ships, 11 units of frigates, 86 units of corvettes, 1 unit of aircraft carrier, 70 units of submarines, 59 units of patrol boats, and 49 units of minesweepers. Russia’s total nuclear weapons are 6,255 units.
