Jarl Magnus Riiber revealed after fourth place in Seefeld on Friday that he has an illness in his body. Now he is considering dropping the rest of the weekend.
Riiber led after the jump race in Austria, but had a hard time in the cross-country track and had to settle for a sour fourth place.
– It is as expected. No, we are a week into the illness I have. It’s idiotic of me to go skiing, really. I have to consider what I do going forward, he says to NRK.
Riiber was sent out with a parasite in his stomach and missed several weeks of training around the turn of the year. He is still struggling with illness in his body.
The combined star made a comeback last weekend in Klingenthal and took second and third place.
When asked if he is considering quitting the Seefeld chutes, the answer is crystal clear:
– Yes. When I lose over a minute in seven and a half kilometers. I’m a long way from where I’m supposed to be on cross-country skiing. It’s pitch dark, really. Now I’m just sad.
Jens Lurås Oftebro won the race in Seefeld.
