Jakarta –
Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir responding to the results of various survey institutions for vice presidential candidates (cawapres) which show that their electability is relatively at the top. Erick talked about nominating candidates but none of them supported him.
This was conveyed by Erick after a press conference for the one century anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at the PBNU office, Central Jakarta. Erick appreciated the various survey results.
“This is part of the research being carried out, right, of course, appreciation. But we know, it’s too early,” said Erick. Erick was asked for his response to the results of the vice presidential survey which showed that his electability was quite high.
Erick said that currently the country’s economic situation is still uncertain. According to him, food and energy issues are still his focus.
“Yesterday the price of fuel fell, thank God, when the price was 79 dollars, but the prediction is that it could go up to 99 dollars again. Then the research data on food prices is the highest, up to 14 percent, of course we focus on food and energy first,” he said.
Erick stressed the candidacy in the 2024 presidential election is still a long way off. He then talked about candidates running for office but none of them supported him.
“And the nomination issue is still a long way off. Then we nominate no one to support it. So don’t get stuck with opinions but appreciation, we can’t eliminate something that is right or wrong, that’s appreciation,” he said.
