What happened ?
The 65-year-old comedian had gone hiking in the Mount Baldy region, located in southern California near Los Angeles.
The search was launched on Saturday January 14 by the police the day after his disappearance. The latter were particularly difficult due to the weather conditions.

The actor is described as a mountaineering and mountain enthusiast, reveals The Parisian. In a 2020 interview with The Guardian, when asked “When are you happiest?” he replied, “Near a mountain top on a glorious cold morning.”
Mount Baldy, a dangerous mountain
Mount Baldy, also called Mount San Antonio, is 3,068 meters high and is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Range, near Los Angeles, recalls West France. The area, popular with outdoor enthusiasts, has been made dangerous by recent serial storms that hit California and brought lots of snow.
San Bernardino County had warned a week ago about the dangerousness of hiking on Mount Baldy during this period because of high winds and ice.
The unoptimistic family
Nick Sands, the brother of the actor, confided to be more and more pessimistic. “He hasn’t been declared missing yet, presumed dead, but I know in my heart he’s gone, he said. But, sibling rivalry being what it is, it’s up to him. to get out of there to prove me wrong,” he added, reporting West France.
