DJ Rob van Someren has become the big audience winner of the annual radio gala. He received both the Radio Ring for Best Presenter and the Golden Radio Ring for his Radio 10 program Summertime.
Van Someren himself was not at the ceremony in Hilversum, because he is on holiday in South Africa. According to the ANP, he did say that he was “incredibly happy for the people with whom I get to make that program every day”.
It was the second time that the 59-year-old radio veteran received the most votes from the public at the most important Dutch radio award. He also won the Golden Radio Ring ten years ago. Other contenders this year were To work! (NPO Radio 2 / AVROTROS), Adress unknown (NPO Radio 5 / KRO-NCRV), Kinkstart (KINK) and Nails with Cups (NPO Radio 2 / BNNVARA).

The public chose Formula 1 At The Table as the best podcast. The Marconi Awards were also presented, which are jury prizes. The Marconi talent award was for Nordin Besling of FunX.
NPO Radio 1 won the Marconi Award for Best Channel. “It is a nice appreciation for our course, in which we pay a lot of attention to in-depth research, investigative journalism and interaction with our listeners,” said channel manager Klaske Tameling.
