The Sancaka Train (KA) heading for Yogyakarta-Surabaya crashed into a car carrying truck in Mojokerto Regency, East Java. Luckily, there were no fatalities in the accident.
Reported detikJatim, Friday (27/1/2023), this accident occurred at an unbarred crossing in Damarsi Hamlet, Kepuhanyar Village, Mojoanyar, Mojokerto Regency. Damarsi Crossing Guard, Muhammad Anam (40) said the accident occurred at around 20.53 WIB.
“Trucks from the north, Sancaka train from west to east,” Anam told reporters at the location, Thursday (26/1).
This Hino truck with police number B 9638 FEH carries 6 new cars. When crossing at Jalan Damarsi, the truck’s chassis got stuck on the rails. So that the truck cannot be advanced or reversed.
“When the driver wanted to jack up his truck, the train came rushing in,” he said.
This incident resulted in the railway route from Mojokerto to Surabaya being impassable. Because the position of the truck and its cargo is still across the crossing.
