Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing issued a guide to fencing vacant lands with the aim of improving the urban landscape on the roads and streets of cities and the main axes of movement in them.

Site requirements:

1. The fence shall be erected on the boundaries of land and space ownership.

2. That the fence be implemented on all the borders of the land and according to a unified design.

3. It is permitted to open a gate to the wall.

4. It is necessary for the land owner and the contractor to implement the fence to take into account the stopping of the equipment during the implementation so that it does not obstruct the movement of vehicles on the street path in any way.

5. The owner of the land shall be responsible for the safety of the sidewalk, lighting and landscaping on the sidewalk, if any, during implementation.

6. The surface of the fence can be covered with materials that enable pedestrians to sit on it.

The fencing of vacant lands is applied to lands located on roads and streets within the urban boundaries of cities, which are specified by the municipalities and municipalities.

Technical requirements:

1. The approval of the Secretariat/Municipality must be obtained before implementing the fencing of the land space.

2. In the case of erecting a gate for the wall, the gate must open from the inside, and the height of the wall is not less than 1.20 meters and does not exceed 2.0 meters horizontally, and the width is not less than 2.4 meters, and it must be closed permanently.

3. It is forbidden to build annexes or any building inside the land space.

4. Safety precautions must be adhered to during construction as stipulated in the General Saudi Building Code.

5. It is forbidden to remove or cut down any trees located on the sidewalks surrounding the site for the purpose of establishing the fence.

6. The owner of the land is committed to the periodic maintenance of the fence and the restoration of damaged parts.

7. It is forbidden to place any advertising materials on the fence without referring to the competent authority in the Municipality or Municipality.
