The former director general of Russia’s federal space agency Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin told Sputnik.
On Wednesday (25/1/2023), Washington and Berlin announced they are ready to provide M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks to Kiev in the coming months. The decision was taken as Russia continues military operations, especially in Ukraine.
Rogozin explained the robot’s control system displays an electronic catalog with images of targets in the visible and infrared ranges, which helps the Marker automatically detect enemy military hardware.
“For example, as soon as deliveries of Abrams and Leopard tanks to Ukrainian troops begin, the Marker will be equipped with an electronic image suitable for detecting and destroying US and German tanks with anti-tank guided missiles,” Rogozin said.
He pointed out that Markers can also prioritize enemy targets while in front.

The former head of Roscosmos said in February four Marker robots would be sent to the Donbass region, where they were expected to become operational soon after going through a number of tests.
Rogozin spoke after German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced Berlin’s decision to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
