The United States asked the Israeli authorities to transfer MIM-23 Hawk air defense to Ukraine, but were refused. This is reported by the former member of the Knesset, head of the international expert center ICES Alexander Tsinker with reference to the publication Axios.
At the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the US request was denied due to the fact that the MIM-23 Hawk systems were “not in working order” because they had been stored for a long time without proper maintenance.
Another reason for the refusal was the principled position of Israel, which still does not supply weapons to Ukraine.
Agency EADaily recalls that Ukraine has repeatedly demanded that Israel supply weapons to Kyiv. However, despite sending humanitarian aid, Tel Aviv does not supply weapons to the Ukrainian side.
